TRAINERS

VIN MAHONI

Vini trained and fought in New Zealand and Australia. He has an extensive 20 year competitive combat background with specialties in Boxing, Kickboxing, and Muay Thai.

Along with his Kickboxing and Boxing successes he feels his biggest accomplishment in health and fitness to date is his weight loss. Vini started martial arts at 19 years old at 138kgs, he went on to loose a whopping 56kg. This gave him the confidence to set goals in life and go get them!  “The stage I am at now is I want to give back, and help others achieve their goals in life: building confidence, weight loss, meet new people, compete in martial arts or just fun fitness.”

“Always remember you present situation is not your final destination, the best is yet to come.”

MACKENZIE (MACCA) JEAN

Macca grew up in Opotiki, where her Dad enrolled her in Taekwondo and she quickly got the bug. At age 13, she had her first fight – all legs and limited punches. After 5 years of Taekwando kicking, she wanted to give Kickboxing a go and quickly identified that punching was her weakness. She wanted to sharpen her hands and learn better technique, so signed up for a boxing fight in February 2019 with The Combat Centre. She has since won more fights and loves being in the ring.

Macca plans to represent New Zealand in the 2020 or 2024 Olympics for Taekwando. “I’m fighting for my people and more importantly for me. I believe you can’t beat someone that won’t give up.”
