Whether you’re new to Jiu-Jitsu, or a seasoned practitioner, we offer a variety of adult classes that will meet your individual needs and experience level.
FUNDAMENTALS (Adult GI and Adult No-Gi)
Starting any new sport, much less a martial art, can be difficult. Our beginner’s classes allow you to learn the basics in a very controlled, safe, and fun environment. The program is designed to effectively introduce all the basic positions, techniques, submissions, and escapes. The classes will prepare you for both self-defense and sport Jiu-Jitsu. It will also improve your fitness, balance, and coordination.
The fundamental program is designed for anyone, male or female, of any body type, fitness level, or age. Students are encouraged to ask questions in order to improve their individual understanding of the techniques and positions. (13 or older). You must have attended 5x Gi Fundamentals classes before you attend the No-Gi Fundamentals class.
INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED
Designed for those who have practised BJJ for a while and have attained at least a 2nd degree white belt, this program will help you take off in your Jiu-Jitsu journey, begin sparring, and participate in tournaments if you choose to. Here, you progress in a systematic fashion to improve your understanding, reflexes, and overall development in the sport.
For students wanting to evolve their Jiu-Jitsu to the more advanced belts, compete, or test their abilities in the most practical setting. In this class, the whole world of Jiu-Jitsu, from simple to complex, is an open book to be studied, evaluated, drilled, and put into practice. This is the class where champions are made and fitness goals are exceeded. This class includes more complex positional study and more intense sparring.
NOGI
Submission Grappling is also known as submission fighting, combat grappling, or simply as No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu, and takes the same approach as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, but without the advantage (or disadvantage) of a uniform to grab on to. The difference between BJJ and submission grappling is in the grips. In the stand-up game, the grips provided by the BJJ uniform allow for many judo-style throwing and submission techniques, while submission grappling take-downs resemble those of traditional wrestling. Grips also come into play on the ground.
Where the BJJ ground game is methodical and technical, submission grappling moves tend to be more fluid and fast-paced. We have found that it is best for the student to know the basic fundamentals of Jiu-Jitsu in order to properly excel in this class. Without the basic knowledge of Jiu-Jitsu, it can create bad habits with your techniques; having the fundamentals engrained into your muscle memory allows this class to be even more beneficial.
OPEN MAT
Our open mat training is designed to allow students to work on specific trouble areas and practice newly learned techniques in a non-instructed format. This class allows members the opportunity to spar, drill, or analyse techniques and improve their Jiu-Jitsu Game.
The class is open to all members of any belt rank or age.
Physical activity is a crucial part of a child’s growth and development. BJJ offers so many benefits to help your child become a confident, successful and productive adult. Learning a martial art provides character development and personal growth that will impact every area of their life, for the rest of their life. It’s a fun way for kids to get into shape, gain confidence, learn respect, improve discipline, and prevent bullying.
KIDS BOXING & KICKBOXING
Designed for kids aged 4 – 12 years old. Full of fun, they learn self-defence and hand-eye coordination. Playing boxing specific games in between drills, it grows confidence and channels energy. This class is perfect for those with wandering attention spans and also pushes those wanting more.
KIDS COMBAT CIRCUIT
